The Holidays
2008 December 24
For the last seven years or so (longer?) the holidays have been tough for me. I’m sure there are a variety of reasons, issues, etc. Suffice it to say that I really am up not “into” this time of year. The societal “ought tos” really get me. Seriously. bin has been tremendously helpful and understanding. Anxiety sucks. Blah, I really hadn’t planned on this being another bitching post, but it is what it is. So there you have it….
*sigh*

You are not alone and I know quite of few people who are really not enjoying the holidays. I won’t go into length about Tony’s tyriad this week about why should he buy presents when he doesn’t even believe in Jesus, but yeah…
Much love and many prayer my friend from the Southland. Find a peaceful spot and wait it out.
Well at least you’re not having a holiday meal of powdered milk like some poor guy on today’s front page of the rgj.com. Things could be worse!
Holiday season or not know that you are much loved and cared about. Jesus being born just provided a reason for people to share it more. I love you my brother.
I took a wife and five and a half month old baby on a 15 hour plane journey to Texas, then got on another plane with the same wife and baby plus my mother (who’s got a bum kneed and shoulder) and my sister (who’s got a bum back and drinks a lot) flew them to Birmingham, Alabama, then drove them up and down the State to different relatives (imagine driving with three passive-aggressive and indecisive blood related females through terrain that is no longer familiar for five days) where we hooked up with my father then all flew back to Texas for a chirstmas bash with the Thomas clan all together in the same room for four days. Alls I gots to say is, I somehow survived.
