Low

April 14, 2008

Blue blue is the sun.
Brown brown is the sky.
Green green are her eyes.
A million miles a million miles

Hey don’t you wanna go down
Like some disgraced cosmonaut
A million miles below their feet
A million miles a million miles

Meatloaf gets 5 comments, but none for Mr. Lowery!

My favorite story about Cracker is as follows….

Its probably around 1993 or 94 and Cracker is opening for Primus at a venue in Berkeley, the Greek Theatre (IIRC). Primus is a local band w/ a massive cult following. They have a weird sound people either love or (mostly) hate. I’m not sure, but you could argue that it almost the opposite of what a lot of Cracker sounds like.

Anyway, Cracker starts their set and all the Primus weirdos start booing them, etc… So, what does smart-ass Lowery do? The more they boo, the slower and twangier he gets. Draws it out over about an hour before leaving the stage.

I love that story on so many levels.

I love that story almost as much as I hate Primus.

Yeah, they were a gimmick band w/ a shitty gimmick. Don’t get me wrong, Claypool is talented, but jeebus christo, what a misdirection of talent.

Plus their fans were gross. Here’s the equation

    1 hippy + .2 more disease – flowers + tattoos + .5 more violent = Primus fan
