The Old School

October 28, 2008

Back when wrasslin’ was still a “sport” and back when it featured main eventers (Mr. Hogan, Mr. Hart, etc.) it also had to have victims. These hardy souls were known as ham ‘n eggers, redshirts, jobbers, and other less friendly words, and their job was to lose every night. One of my favorites was S.D. (Special Delivery) Jones. I don’t think I ever saw ol’ S.D. win a match (aside from perhaps a tag team effort now and then) and he was famous for jobbing to King Kong Bundy in 9 seconds at Wrestlemania I. Apparently S.D. died this last week at home in Antigua. He was only 63. Find below a wonderful example of S.D. doing the job for Randy Savage.
